John Bishop
John Bishop is one the UK’s biggest names in comedy. Within three years of his first ever gig, John was playing sold-out arena audiences across the country, and released the fastest selling stand-up DVD in UK history. He has achieved huge success with a number of his own comedy, entertainment and documentary shows including ‘John Bishop’s Australia’ (BBC1), ‘John Bishop’s Britain’ (BBC1), ‘John Bishop’s Only Joking’ (Sky1), ‘The John Bishop Show’ (BBC1), ‘The John Bishop Christmas Show’ (BBC1), ‘John Bishop’s Gorilla Adventure’, filmed in Rwanda for ITV1 and most recently ‘John Bishop’s Ireland’ (ITV1). Other TV work includes John’s one-off special for Sport Relief, ‘John Bishop’s Week Of Hell’ (BBC1), a stint as team captain on Sky One’s ‘A League of their Own’ (Sky1), and his guest appearances on ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC1). Shortly before this, John took the reins as director and star of his own comedy drama for Sky One’s ‘Little Crackers’ season. Adding another string to his bow as a dramatic actor, John worked with director Ken Loach in thriller ‘Route Irish’ and Jimmy McGovern’s critically acclaimed ‘Accused’.
